With the support of the Erasmus+ Programme, the ENHANCE Project: Empowering Girls and Young Women Across Europe and the MENA Region is proud to announce its start. Its initiative includes the formation of a cross-sector partnership of organisations from three EU countries (Cyprus, Italy, North Macedonia) and three non-EU countries (Jordan, Morocco, Egypt). This collaborative effort aims to tackle gender inequality and discrimination by equipping communities with innovative, non-formal education tools to ensure inclusion and empowerment for girls and young women.
Starting in November 2024, the project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, aiming to address the need for cultural change by creating communities that are inclusive and less prone to discrimination. This project focuses to break the barriers and stereotypes that perpetuate gender inequality.
Key Objectives of ENHANCE
The project is built on a foundation of shared learning and capacity building, with a particular focus on non-EU partner organizations. Through this initiative, ENHANCE will introduce non-formal education methods to promote the empowerment of girls and young women and will expand the network of organizations, educators, and target groups benefiting from the project’s outputs.
Participants
ENHANCE brings together a dynamic partnership dedicated to creating change in their communities:
- Restorative Justice for All International Institute Europe (RJ4All Europe) – Cyprus
- Framework Associazione Culturale (FRAMEWORK)– Italy
- Eunoia Association for Education, Culture, Entrepreneurship, Ecology, and Sport (EUNOIA) – North Macedonia
- Social Peace Association for Enhancement and Development (SPAED)– Egypt
- Al-Balawna Charity Association (AL BALWANAH) – Jordan
- Jordanian Aloun Society for Sustainable Community Development and Care for Widows and Orphans (AL-AWN)– Jordan
- Association Centre Atig pour les Études et l’Information de Tiznit (ATIG)– Morocco
Impact and Vision
ENHANCE takes inspiration from the European Commission’s ongoing work on gender equality, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices between EU and non-EU partners. According to a UNICEF report, limited access to quality education significantly affects girls and young women in Jordan, Morocco, and Egypt. ENHANCE will address these issues by piloting its methods among consortium partners, spreading its impact at a pan-European level.
“We are thrilled to join forces with our partners in this transformative journey, united by a common vision to create lasting impact and meaningful change”
EUNOIA
“Equity and empowerment of women and youth are a strategic advantage that promotes innovation in the society”
AL-AWN
"At RJ4All, we believe in the power of collaboration to create supportive communities where gender equality thrives. Through the ENHANCE project, we are working to give girls and young women the tools and opportunities to overcome challenges and build a brighter, more inclusive future"
