Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with a vision of a world that embraces the restorative justice values of power-sharing, fairness, equality, dignity and respect and where power abuse is rooted out. We pursue our vision by using the power of dialogue, education, sports, and art through the ethos of restorative justice.  

The RJ4All Headquarters are in London at the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre and we have a sister organisation based in Cyprus, “RJ4All Europe”.  

Our mission centres on addressing power abuse, conflict, and poverty through the application of restorative justice values and practices. We advance equality, community cohesion, and human rights through multiple interconnected approaches. Our work encompasses delivering social justice and poverty relief projects, alongside educational programmes and youth clubs+ that foster understanding and growth. We facilitate intercultural dialogue initiatives and awareness-raising workshops while providing high-quality internships and volunteering opportunities that empower individuals to create positive change. 

Job Overview

The Research Assistant will support RJ4All’s entrepreneurial Founder & Executive Director in a busy and dynamic work environment in the UK and Cyprus. 

Key tasks will centre around providing research support (secondary and primary) in RJ4All’s areas of expertise, as well as undertaking administrative and communication tasks impacting on the work of the Director. The postholder will need to be able to combine critical thinking, independence and creativity, while performing their task in confidence and diligence. Initiative and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. Key skills required for this post are the ability to communicate effectively, prioritise tasks in a fast pace and remain flexible in responding to needs as they come up.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities and crime prevention
  • Experience in providing research assistance to management
  • Knowledge of restorative justice and RJ4All areas of expertise
  • Experience in writing research and policy papers and letters
  • A self-motivated communicator with strong organizational skills who can work independently, meet deadlines, and demonstrate leadership potential while maintaining professional values and ambition.
Desirable 
  • Master’s degree in social sciences
  • Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising
  • Experience in managing internal communications and dealing with HR issues
  • Training in restorative justice and other relevant areas
  • Knowledge of restorative justice and RJ4All areas of expertise
